“I wrote the first verse for this song in 2023, and it floated back into my brain in 2025 along with some unresolved feelings and a chorus melody. The lyrics are about what felt like the biggest betrayal in my romantic history - the person I trusted the most turning his back on me and hard launching a new relationship a few heartbeats later. The only power I could find in the situation was deciding that the person I thought I knew wouldn't hurt me like that, so I must not know him at all. The last two lines say it best: ‘I can’t forgive, so I’ll just forget til I don’t know you.’”
